Shane Poteete

Owner Built Creative, Creative Director

From an early age, Shane has been creating. At the age of 4, frustrated with the limitations of crayons, he picked up his mother's acrylic paints for a greater range of expression. From photography and woodworking, to painting and graphic design Shane's desire to experiment with and master various forms of media continues to this day. Receiving a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in painting from Shepherd University in 1994, Shane has played a key role in the brand development of many print, web, direct marketing, multimedia, and television advertising campaigns for both B2B and retail accounts across the U.S. and around the world. At the core of his business is the firm belief that success can only be measured by the success of his clients. Shane continues to utilize new techniques and technologies that can be employed to help clients grow their business and stay ahead of the competition. He has received praise, accolades, and awards over the years from both the industry and clients, but most values the relationships he has fostered through hard work, honesty and dedicated service.

Wendy Cernel

Graphic Designer, Illustrator

Wendy is a graduate of North Carolina State University where she majored in Graphic Design and minored in Art & Design with a focus on Surface Textile Design. With a background in print, a strong sense of design, and a flair for illustration, Wendy brings a fresh perspective to our seasoned team. Her organizational skills and keen eye for new media and modern design are assets we've come to appreciate. With several graphic design awards under her belt already, her critical role as Graphic Designer ensures we meet our daily deadlines, while still exceeding the expectations of our clients.

Shelley Cernel

Social Media Director, New Business

Shelley Cernel is a graduate of North Carolina State University where she received a BS in Brand Management and Marketing and a Minor in Business Administration. She is also finishing up a Master of Science in Textile Technology Management with a focus on International Business, and a thesis pertaining to global social media marketing strategy. Shelley has lived and worked internationally, doing both branding and social media for several companies abroad. She has also lectured on social media for business at North Carolina State University and taught courses on product lifecycle management software. Her insight and knowledge of social media and the value it can bring to businesses is an important part of our refocussed online marketing strategies.

Amy Lambert

Production Manager, Account Manager

Amy comes to us from St. Louis where her office management, project management and background in bookkeeping will keep the Built Creative team on track and on task. She has worked in non-profit organizations such as the Missouri Brain Injury Association as a project and office manager and the Metropolitan Community Church as the Associate Minister of Congregational Life. She has also organized and produced programs for survivors with brain injuries and their family members as well as planned retreats for training and reflection within her church base. Amy became fully ordained in 2013 and continues to work in church systems to facilitate transition, strategically plan programming, and act as a strong voice for church growth.

Matt Everley

Senior Art Directory, Branding Consultant

Matt brings over 13 years of experience in graphic communication, web design and brand development to our team. He has worked for the largest advertising agency in the world, Ogilvy & Mather, as well as for himself. He's worked on national and international accounts including Tyco, IBM, and Divi Resorts. He holds a BA in Graphic Communications and a Minor in Design from NC State University, graduating Cum Laude. His knowledge of the internet, dynamic content, graphic design and printing processes gives him an overall roundness that provides a unique fit with Built Creative. Matt has obtained multiple awards for design, direct mail and identity systems.

Shannon LuQuire

Account Manager, New Business

Shannon graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in English. After attending the Carolina Publishing Institute, she opened her own publishing company in Wilmington, NC, where she produced two successful event planning calendars for Eastern North Carolina. Her love of working directly with clients to help them achieve their marketing goals, along with her more than 15 years of experience working with a variety of clients on a national level, including IBM, Progress Energy, Waste Industries, The American Kennel Club, and The US Tennis Association, make Shannon indispensable. She not only understands how to effectively market a business in print and online, but she has many years of experience in event planning, trade show management and installation graphics development. Her experience and positive attitude give peace of mind and assurance that details will be checked and deadlines will be met.

Robert Burns

Project Manager, Director IT Services

Robert keeps us grounded with logic, technical savvy and hard numbers. Not only does he manage our hosted accounts and provide IT sevice, he also is a frontline point of contact for many of our clients. Whether its managing a large database-driven website from start to finish, or photographing enough product to fill a catalog, we know Robert will be up to the task. His experience is varied and includes project management for multi-million dollar corporations where his expertise in processing mind-boggling amounts of data are paramount. From custom programming and database design, to brand strategy and client management, we rely on Robert every day. In the few hours he's not answering client requests, Robert enjoys running, travel and collecting fine wine from around the world.

Amanda Kanaan

Medical Marketing Consultant

After obtaining a degree in journalism, Amanda first began her career as the healthcare editor at a monthly magazine authoring her own healthcare column. She then gained experience at a marketing/p.r. agency where she managed a large number of medical-related accounts. Next she branched out as medical marketing consultant providing private medical practices with services such as creating and implementing marketing strategy, building referrals as a physician liaison, writing and producing print collaterals, and building effective websites for doctors. Amanda has published over a hundred medical related articles and is a national speaker on the topic of medical marketing. With a genuine passion for helping doctors grow their practices, Amanda has cumulatively increased practice revenues by millions of dollars.
